Paul Elliott (B.Com, CEO)
Appointment Date: 2 April 2013
Paul is a partner in the Auckland corporate finance firm, Time Capital, having operated his own corporate advisory business for several years as an advisor in the sectors of business recovery, performance improvement and governance. Paul undertook a number of assignments as Chief Financial Officer or General Manager, guiding several major NZ companies through extremely challenging periods in New Zealand, Australia, the UK and mainland Europe.
He has been CFO for a number of companies including the listed retirement village operator Metlifecare, kiwifruit exporter Zespri, Pacific Retail Group and Timberlands which is New Zealand's second largest forest estate. His experience extends across a number of industry sectors, including retail, finance, forestry and timber processing, agriculture and horticulture.
In addition to this extensive background Paul presently holds and has held a number of directorships of both privately-held and publicly-listed companies. Paul was appointed CEO of Asset Finance effective from 25 December 2015.
Blair George (BInfoTech)
Appointment Date: 10 April 2014
Blair has many years of experience working in the finance industry, initially starting with Asset Finance in 2000 after successfully completing his bachelor's degree in Information Technology.
From an initial front line customer service position he then went on to take the role of Systems Administrator, which saw him manage the communication and computer systems across our nation-wide branch and agency network.
His impact on the Company has long gone beyond technology, and includes the design and authoring of the Company's first prospectus and investment statements back as early as 2004. Blair helped guide the company through comprehensive legislative change starting in 2009, and was appointed as CEO in September 2012.
Blair resigned from his full time position at Asset Finance effective from 25 December 2015 but remains on the board.
Bryan Heapy (Independent, Chairman)
Appointment Date: 10 May 2005
Bryan has 25 years’ experience in the finance and business banking industry, and he has held several senior positions in a variety of leading financial institutions. These positions have covered a spectrum of roles, including client relationship management, lending, credit, and regional management.
These roles have exposed Bryan to a broad range of industry sectors including finance, manufacturing, fishing, tourism, commercial property, vehicle retailing, heavy equipment and civil engineering.
In recent years Bryan has been an executive of one of NZ’s largest private companies. More recently he has been CEO of Admark Visual Imaging Ltd, a significant printing company; and Manager of Precision Component Machining Ltd, an engineering company based in Hamilton.
John Whittfield (Independent)
Appointment Date: 1 February 2015
John is currently Managing Director of Corporate Solutions and Management Limited, a company that primarily operates in the field of business recovery. Prior to the formation of this company he was managing partner of McDonald Vague (Auckland) from 2005 -2010 where he had been a partner since 2002.
Before taking up the position at Mc Donald Vague, John had held a significant number of directorships in the dairy industry and had been involved in the process of mergers and acquisitions that lead to the formation of Fonterra.
John has also taken directorships to assist and facilitate the sale of company assets or amalgamation of trading entities.
Tom Wilson (Independent)
Appointment Date: 14 July 2017
Tom was a partner of KPMG for ten years, specialising in turnaround management and corporate recovery. He built an outstanding reputation in the Waikato / Bay of Plenty region, testimony to his performance is that he developed the largest client portfolio in the practice.
From 1987, Tom spent six years as CEO of Matrix Corporation and GM Business Development of Guardian Healthcare (now BUPA). From 2002 until 2007, Tom was the founder and managing director of Radius Health Group, which comprised medical centres, pharmacies and rest homes. In the five years under Tom’s stewardship that business grew from start-up to be the country’s largest business in the market segments in which it operated.
More recently, Tom has operated his own corporate finance company, Time Capital NZ Ltd, and has led a number of business turnaround projects, most notably in the kiwifruit industry. Tom serves as a director of several companies, and has held directorships in privately-held and publicly-listed companies.
